  QUALITY - CUT GRADING
FINE CUT :
Precision cut or visually imitates a precision cut. These stones have equal and symmetrical faceting with proper cutting angles ("critical angle') and depth
WELL CUT :
These stones face up well with good proportions, but have some minor analytical problems that don't effect the brilliance significantly.
GOOD CUT :
These stones face up well but have some depth and other analytical problems that are effecting brilliance.
FAIR CUT :
These stones look nice face up, but have visual cutting errors that effect the brilliance and look of the gem.
POOR CUT :
There are obvious cutting errors in these stones.
GEM :
Precision cutting viewed under 10X magnification, considered "meet point". Polish and symmetry are outstanding and no cutting flaws can be detected under 10X loupe. It's important to note that many of our FINE CUT gems are likely Gem grade, but we haven't checked. We reserve the GEM grading for higher value gems that we have decided are worth evaluating under 10x Loupe.
  QUALITY - CLARITY GRADING
AAA :
eye clean, top and bottom. Most of these are also 10x loupe clean.
AA+ :
face up eye clean, any inclusions will not be visible to the eye when set.
AA :
Inclusions will be difficult to see, yet visible from the face.
A+ :
Inclusions are easily detected by the eye, but they don't detract significantly from the beauty of the stone.
A :
Inclusions are obvious.
YUK :
Heavy inclusions.
GEM :
10X Loupe clean. It's important to note that many of our AAA gems are likely 10X Loupe clean, but we haven't checked. We reserve the GEM grading for higher value gems that we have decided are worth evaluating under 10x Loupe.
